Pet Sculptures by Kathryn Nicholas~ a handmade replica of your pet
Since 2004 when a display of sculpted dogs was shown in a coffee shop, hundreds of orders have been filled. Pet Sculptures ships from here in Virginia, to Seattle Washington and everywhere in between, recently, including the UK and Australia.
Invitations for Silent Auctions are always accepted, and have included *the Medical College of Virginia, *the Maymont Foundation, *the SPCA's annual "Fur Ball", *Fetch-A-Cure, *Best Friends Animal Society, *and Make-A-Wish radiothon, where the Pet Sculptures gift certificate brought in almost 300. through the winning bid. Contributions through gift certificates will also go to *the Math Science Innovation Center for advancing educational tools to students, and also to *SOS (Save Our Shelters) Pen Pal organization, which creates a unique opportunity for inmates in correctional facilities to care for and train shelter dogs, so that the pets can later be adopted.
The sculptures, though individualized by order, are on display throughout Virginia in gift shops and several art galleries. In September 2007, Pet Sculptures appeared in a local arts and news magazine. More recently the sculptures were featured on www.animalattraction.com, a network for pet lovers. SIZES & COSTS ~
Large: a dog 70 lbs. or more lying down is about this length.
Large dog in the sitting position is around 6" tall.
Large runs between $140. and $150. depending upon breed and material needed.
Medium: a dog 35-65 lbs. lying down is this length.
Medium dog in the sitting position is around 5" tall.
Medium is $130.
Small: a pet, including cats & bunnies, under 30 lbs. are only slightly shorter in length than the medium, and are also available lying down, sitting or standing.
Small- all pets within this weight range are $120.
s/h: $8. and up depending on location. Mailing will be calculated in finalized order.
